After five years, yesterday One Direction finally did a live lounge session for BBC Radio 1. And even though during the interview, Harry had to use a rather strange app on his phone to talk for him taking into account he was on voice rest, they absolutely were stunning performing each song immaculately as always.
They performed six songs consecutively with the setlist consisting of songs:
- Drag Me Down
- Story Of My Life
- Four Five Seconds (Cover)
- Torn (X Factor)
I particularly liked the choice of setlist for the environment of the live lounge because all of these songs are more slower, meaningful songs, this suited the relaxed vibe the live lounge is generally all about.
So I think from what my eyes saw twitter when into absolute meltdown when the boys started to performed Torn, a paramount song they performed back in 2010 during the X Factor live shows and during judges houses. Suspicions were raised when One Direction announced shortly before the live lounge they will have a surprise in store but certainly I was not expecting them to sing Torn for the first time ever since those memorable X Factor days.
I also enjoyed the selection of song Infinity because this event just took place yesterday, and with the album being released today this was a great way to promote it to all radio 1 listeners and coincidentally get us Directioners hyped and ecstatic for the album release.
Overall after watching One Direction at the live lounge multiple times, they all sounded incredible and they defiantly made a great selection of classics and new songs to create a suitable setlist.
