This post has been long overdue. Lately, I have been having so many new, creative ideas for blog posts that I have kept putting this one off further back into my schedual. However today is the day in which this post discusses the video in which Panic! At The Disco released around three weeks ago and it was footage of their performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in America of their song from upcoming album Death Of A Bachelor called Victorious, certainly my favorite song so far they have released before the album.
I think the whole cinematography of the video throughout was neat and sleek with the camera effects changing between color and monochrome which made the video innovaitive. The use of a variety of camera angles also worked along with capturing the concept that it was a live performance because if you are a concert goer like myself you know that there is so much happening around you that its hard to capture and consume at times yet, by using camera angles such as landscape shots and close up shots this gave us the perspective of everything going on during that one performanc
The fact that during the video it was a montage of clips of Brendon talking, rehearsals, backstage antics and the performance itsself made the video have flow to it seeing as it was not plain and simply based on the performance.
Lastly, the final element that was eye catching in this performance was the main person himself, Brendon. Throughout the entire performance he came across so enthusiastic when he was on stage and to me he has such a strong stage presence shown through his dancing and care free personality when performing. As soon as i completed watching this video as soon as it was uploaded it made me so excited for next January when i am fortunatly going to be seeing Panic! just before their album release date.
Although I have seen many people slighty dissapointed that the video was not paired with the live audio which i agree with because it would give off that real concert feel and experience so fans of Panic! thinking about attending a concert in the near future when their new material comes out could visualise and hear what it would be like.
Check out my blog next week for a review on Panic! At The Disco’s brand new song they just dropped today La Devotee.
