The Music Tag

Many people that know me in person and virtually through social media and this blog, it’s more than likely evident by now that I am a massive music lover and in no way can’t go a single day without playing some form of marvellous music. Therefore, inspired by the Internet, society and fellow amazing blogger Musing Upon My Life on here, all these influential elements provided me with an epiphany to delve deeper into my music taste and do the famous music tag.

Rules of the music tag:

  • List the first ten songs that come up whilst on shuffle, no skipping tracks.
  • Write any favourite lyrics from each individual song.
  • Lastly, tag or link any other people you would like to complete this tag.

Ten songs on shuffle:

Forth Of July – Fall Out Boy

My 9 to 5 is cutting open old scars

Again and again ’til I’m stuck in your head

Had my doubts, but I let them out

You are the drought

And I’m the holy water you have been without

No real reason why I like this particular section of the song, there are some really creative, cleaver lyrics. This song is defiantly in my top five favourite Fall Out Boy songs of all time.

West End Kids – New Politics

Let’s say goodbye to this old and broken

For me referencing and meaning that change can be beneficial and that it’s acceptable to say goodbye to old ways of life.

The Music Or The Misery – Fall Out Boy

I’m every cliche, but I simply do it best

This song is full of amazing lyrical lines, but because this song is full of attitude I thought these lyrics did it justice.

Get Weird – Little Mix

Cause it don’t matter who you are, you can be who you wanna be

Simple, straightforward and self explanatory. That’s why I like this collection of lyrics.

Alive – One Direction

Don’t look back,

Live your life,

Even if it’s only for tonight

Right in the centre of the chorus, these lyrics immediately came to mind with them defining as don’t think about the future, just live for the moment.

Time-Bomb – All Time Low
Every storm that comes,

Also comes to an end

Meaning that low times in life will come to an end and may result in positive things. Or in weather aspects it could mean something different!

Faithless – Black Veil Brides

Behold the new hate with all the same lost values

Potentially expressing that in modern society morals and values are decreasing and that hatred is common.

Defame Me – New Years Day

Go ahead blame me you can’t defame me

Get it all out of your system

Go ahead hate me I don’t care

From my perspective these lyrics featured in the catchy chorus mean that an individual will never be able to ruin a persons reputation no matter what the circumstances.

Time To Dance – Panic! At The Disco

But they believe from the tears

And the teeth right down to the blood

Even though this song is increasing in popularity now, it will always be my favourite Panic! song. Out off the lyrical content in this song, this section just stands out for no real reason to be honest.

Doubt – Twenty One Pilots

Scared of my own image, scared of my own immaturity
Shaking hands with the dark parts of my thoughts

I feel as if all Twenty One Pilots songs are so realistic, relatable and honest therefore I could not just pick one piece of lyric. These lyrics on my mind translate into self consciousness and mental thoughts and feelings of an individual.

By far that was the toughest blog post I have ever gone through the process of writing. Songs featured in this post such as Doubt, Time-Bomb and Defame Me lyrically were the hardest decisions.

However I really enjoyed doing the music tag, even though in the rules it says to tag people, I’m rebelling and instead anyone that has not yet done this tag and loves music, defiantly feel free to do so and let me know if you have.
