Louis Tomlinson & Niall Horan At Soccer Aid 2016

A fortnight ago now, the highly anticipated yearly charity based event called Soccer Aid took place. And this year it is safe to say it was the best one yet in my personal opinion. Essentially for all of you who may be unaware of what Soccer Aid actually entails, it is a charity football match which is hosted in the UK where there are two teams exactly like in a professional football tournament. The two teams are usually England and The Rest Of The World and a selection of celebrities, depending on where they come from or the cultural background are placed in the most suitable team and a football match is hosted in order to raise money for the assigned charity that Soccer Aid represents.

This year an amazing line up of celebrities played for both team England and The Rest Of The World. Some players included Olly Murs, Robbie Williams but most prominently One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan who both were on the opposing teams which made this star studded event even more excitable and even some friendly rivalry was seen between the pair.

Some team rivalry was seen between the pair of bandmates from One Direction.

Hosted in professional football team Manchester United’s stadium, after all the build up, pre match practice, interviews and backstage footage including these two individuals, the game finally kicked off. In the first half, regarding Louis and Niall nothing for them happened at all seeing as they were not even in the pitch yet due to the line up arrangements of players. However for Louis’ team mates Olly Murs and Mark Wright, this was a totally different story. Olly had several solid shots at the goal but with little success at actually scoring. But later for England and ex professional footballer Mark, a free kick saw him score a flawless, perfect first goal for Team England which is the pin point for when the game actually properly started.

Finally on the pitch Louis and Niall gave it their best shot at playing the sport.

Moving swiftly on into the latter stages of the first half and transitioning into the second half of the game, this is when the action finally picked up pace. Team Rest Of The World finally got momentum in the game and scored a decent two goals which means they were definitely giving England a tough time. However of course team England did not give up without a fight scoring a further two goals as a result getting ahead of team The Rest Of The World. With around ten minuets to spare until the game finished, at last the very moment everyone was waiting for Louis and Niall were finally put on the pitch. Even though this was a very exciting time, it appears that it was short lived seeing that they were substituted right at the very end of the match and between them they only had a couple of passes of the football each. Even though this was the case, they still managed to give it all they got with some decent, clear cut passes being executed by the One Direction band members.

Even though the boys were on opposite teams. as friends they were still kind to one another both on and off the pitch.

After a whole ninety crucial minuets the game ended with a score of 3-2 to Team England which for me even though this was all in the name of charity, I was still rather happy that the game went to England with the final result.

There we have it! If you live in the UK or if you did manage to stream the match, be sure to tell me your commentary on how you think the boys did doing something different outside of their normal profession in the comments section below.
