How I Discovered One Direction, Panic! At The Disco & Fall Out Boy

Considering my blog is named One Fall Out At The Disco, which in basic terms is a collective title of the combination of three of my favouitre bands of all time One Direction, Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy. A great though which was a spin off blog post idea based on this came to my mind recently and I though I would explain in more depth how I dicovered the artists in question which I believe would be a great way to connect even more with anybody out there that glances at my blog posts every Friday on a personal music level.

Firstly, kicking off with my explanation of how I fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you want to look at it, stumbled across One Direction which truly did spark my passion for music as a whole. Probably like most fans of the boy band that have residence in the UK and that are big fans of a certain talent show, I first heard about One Direction back on my tv screen during their time on The X Factor. Although I did watch them on this show especially during the live shows, it actually was not until  six monthsto a year after the newly formed group taking third place that I did consider myself a dedicated fan and the group as being one of my favouite artists. In the late stages of their Up All Night Tour coming to a close, this was when I came across their X Factor video diarys which I can solidly guarantee every single Directioner is familiar with. Basically like anybody aquainting themselfs with a band, this amazing discovery made me end up staying up to unspeakable hours in the morning watching every One Direction video on the internet possible. And to simply put it,from that moment onwards, my life drastically went downhill in a positive way.

Secondly, I will fully confess on how I discovered Panic! At the Disco and tell you all why the discovery of this paticular band is the most important to me. The whole process began during the Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die era or back when I was in Year 12 almost two years ago now. So during a coversation with my music teacher at the time and a few of my fellow music friends who unfortunately we were the unlucky ones who got their coursework picked to be examined, the topic of look-a-likes and general exchanging of information on bands was occuring whilst completing a hefty amaount of extra work of course. Eventually the name Brendon Urie and Panic! At the Disco arised and I did slightly recongnise the band name and promised myself that I would look them up. So after school, curiosity got the better of me as per usual and I first of all re-searched Panic! At the Disco and I remeber so vividly, the first music video I ever watched was for ‘Ready To Go’ which was closely followed up with the short video promoting album ‘Vices & Virtues’ called ‘The Overture’. This in turn is definately why both of these videos very strongly resignate with myself and are also the reasoning for why ‘Vices & Virtues’ is my favouite album by Panic!

Thirdly and last but not least, I will discuss how I made the discovery of Fall Out Boy. For this band, my knowing of them came about probably in the most simplest way out of the three I have explained. Basically around the same time I was getting to know Panic! At the Disco’s music, in my suggestions there was a Fall Out Boy interview looming on my page which if I remember rightly it may of been the Drunk History video they collaborated on with Brendon Urie which makes an awful amount of sence because at the time, it was Panic! At the Disco on my screen. You can probably predict how this is going to end! Seeing as curiosity is my weak point in life, of course I made that lifechanging click onto that video which eventually created a never ending chain of Fall Out Boy interviews and music which I could not escape from.

I really enjoyed telling you guys my experience when coming across the three bands that inspired me to create One Fall Out At The Disco in the first place. If you are a avid fan of any three of these bandslike myself, explain to me in the comments how you personally discovered either One Direction, Panic! At the Disco or Fall Out Boy. I am very interested to see if they is any similarities or differenced in the way we all individually discover some of our favouite bands today. On the flip side, for any of you who are somehow not aware of these trio of bands precense I will leave you all the links to their Youtube channels so if you are like me and you are a curious person, you can check out their music and maybe this could be the beginning of your own journey to discovering new artists and music.

I remember my friend constantly telling me to listen to this song she found ( which was The Ballad Of Mona Lisa) and after a while I eventually decided to click the link she was spamming me with and I ended up getting hooked. I remember constantly playing Mona Lisa over and over again along with other songs that I had discovered. When it came to Fall Out Boy, I was watching Kerrang and there was a Panic! vs Fob thing going on and as you probably guessed it, I ended up getting into them aswell and that’s when my passion for pop punk music started.

That’s good to know! It’s like a never ending chain once you listen to one band you get hooked on a few more. Yeah I’m pretty similar I started off with Ready To Go and that’s when my obsession began. Thank you for your comment.
