However if you unfortunately missed the Brit awards being broadcasted I am here to serve you up all the antics, favourite moments and awards winners of the night all on one page that will not take two and a half-hours to read unlike the length it takes to watch the actual show.

Explicitly digressing about the winners who received a very much covered Brit Award I was pleased to see names such as the 1975 scooping the award for best British band considering the amount of success they have achieved within the past two years especially with ‘I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’I believe they definitely are a solid representation of a British specifically Manchester based group who are generating generous amounts of success plus they are generally awesome in plain contexts anyway. Little Mix, I was beyond overjoyed to see these girls finally pick up their first ever brit award on Wednesday. may I add a very overdue one! It’s totally undeniable how hard and dedicated Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne work continously as a collective and seeing that they are dominating the world right now its safe to say that this Brit was probably one of the most deserving of the night to me. Of course the final stand out award presentation that I and many other individuals participated in was the moment One Direction or should I specify Liam Payne picked up the award for music video of the year for the forth time in a row making this the seventh brit awards to the boy bands name. Just when you thought none of the boys turned up to the awards ceremony literally ten minuets before the slot for the award in question Liam rocked up and magically appeared from what it looked like under the stage and proceeded to accept the award on behalf of the group. In all honestly while he thanked the fans for their continued support considering this was a fan voted award and he in essence said One Direction will always be the guys home despite the hiatus and their solo careers I couldn’t help but be distracted by Liam’s rather voluminous hair. It was truly hair-raising for all the right reasons. However its safe to say the night was dominated by David Bowie who now has a further two Brit Awards to his name which is truly well deserved.
The musical interludes of the night featured names and the stand out performances for myself including the 1975, Little Mix, Ed Sheeran featuring Stormzy, Katy Perry with Skip Marley and an unexpected performance of The Chainsmokers and Coldplay who debued their new collaboration called ‘Something Just Like This’. After winning their first brit award just like Little Mix the 1975 took to the stage to perform my ultimate summer festival anthem ‘The Sound’ which I enjoyed very much. I’m pretty sure that every time they perform the same song it never gets boring and only becomes more uplifting. Little Mix were actually the first set of performers who opened the Brits with their now award winning single ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ with the choreography being bigger and better than ever. During the latter half of the ceremony Katy Perry alongside Skip Marley used the Brits as a platform to promote their song ‘Chained To The Rhythm’ together with Perry’s outfit taking my liking and an ever-growing viral event during the performance happening which I will elaborate on later. The two biggest performances of the night belonged to Ed Sheeran who surprised viewers when he brought nominated Grime artist Stormy to the stage as a one off collaborative performance and lastly Coldplay’s Chris Martin completed a solo tribute to the late George Michael of course which was a performance worth the watch.
The performances two in particular with them being the 1975’s and Katy Perry’s performance causing a stir of confusion and casually blowing up the internet. For those who may not know the 1975 more as a band during ‘The Sound’ music video comments flash upon the screen with critics harsh comments regarding the band before they found fame. This left many people confused seeing that they brought this aspect of the video and incorporated it into their Brits performance leading individuals online to thinking that the four piece performance somehow got hijacked. However the stir and confusion didn’t last long when the bands fans dispersed these rumours in essence clearing the confusion with what I just said. Now if you thought Madonna falling at last years Brit awards during her performance was a highlight and tv gold think again. During Katy Perry’s appearance an individual in the crowd actually caught on video the moment when one of the many people turned houses on stage took an unfortunate tumble off the side of the stage. I have to admit it was hilarious I just hope that person/house is alright!
That just about sums up the highlights and events that occurred on the 37th annual Brit Awards for this year. Just before I wrap this very long post up be sure to comment or like this post if you are disappointed that Twenty One Pilots didn’t take the award for International Group. I for one was genuinely shocked and surprised that the duo didn’t win for this category. However there is always a next time and at their rate of success especially after their Grammy win, they will defiantly score a Brit soon I can sense it.
